Mount Rushmore National Memorial

Description: It started with an idea to draw in sightseers. Today, nearly 3 MILLION people visit the park every YEAR.

A bucket list item we have been excited to see since we started our adventure. Mount Rushmore certainly did not disappoint. 

The View 

Before even arriving at the park you are able to see Mount Rushmore from the road leading into the park. 

Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center 

The Visitor's Center is located below the Grand View Terrace. There are an exhibit hall, a film, a bookstore and information desk located here. 

The Presidential Trail 

This 1/2 mile loop gives you an up close view of the carvings. It is an easy hike from the Grand View Terrace, walking clockwise, the 2nd half of the trail has 450 stairs. The trail has great views of the surrounding area.
