Kewaunee, WI

Body of Water: Lake Michigan
Anchor or Dock: Dock
Traveled: 49 NM

We left with calm seas and beautiful cliffs at 8 am from Egg Harbor. I drove most of the way to Sturgeon Bay. When we purchased the boat I had no idea how much I would actually drive the boat. In 4 years of RVing I only drove once, from exit to exit, about 40 miles.

Once we got to Sturgeon Bay, it was extremely busy with boat traffic. It was a day of first for us. The most boats on the water (lots of them), Bridges (3), and a barge. We also went through our first canal today. The Coast Guard Station - Station Sturgeon Bay is at the end.  Once we got to Lake Michigan the seas were rough, constant 4 footers. It was a long long day.

We had our first visitors when we arrived in Kewaunee.

The town of Kewaunee is centered around fishing. We stayed at Salmon Harbor Marina with almost all the boats being personal or charter fishing boats. We were able to be on a T-dock which was easy to get into and out of.  We did a little shopping- fish and cheese. The cheese was not the usual cheddar variety or curds but Artisan Gouda. Our favorite was aged 10-12 months. We walked around down to the pier and enjoy a visit to the playground.
