St. Louis, Missouri

From Illinois, we drove to St. Louis, Missouri. We stayed at 370 Lakeside in St. Peter's, Missouri. The park was a newer park, with big wide open spaces. There was a great bike and running trail around the lake. The one issue we seem to be having at some of the parks is the Internet. Hopefully we will be able to find something that will be more reliable soon.

St. Louis Highlights

Gateway Arch

The Arch is truly a must see! The arch is located at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, a National Park National Historic Site. This was the location in which Lewis and Clark finished their journey. We did the, Journey to the Top of the Arch in the Arch tram. The Arch tram is an amazing egg like pod you sit in, as it takes you to the top of the Arch. The Gateway Arch is 630 feet in the air. A great view at the top, out small windows.

 Saint Louis Zoo

A Free Attraction in St. Louis. We visited for 3 hours and only saw 1/2 the zoo. The kids enjoyed the different animals, exhibts and spending time outside.

Saint Louis Science Center

Another Free Attraction in St. Louis! 3 Floors of science fun. It is very interactive. The kids were able to spend as much time as they want at each exhibit. The highlight was static electricity !

Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site

This is the family home of Ulysses wife Julia Dent Grant, White Haven. We had a personal tour of this historic site. There is a very informative film about Grant as a Civil War General and President. You are able to visit inside the home. There are not many artifacts here due to a fire. The property was well kept. The kids completed their Junior Ranger Badges here as well.
