De Soto National Memorial

History : Hernanado de Soto began expedition in 1539, he covered 4,000 miles of the Southeastern USA. 

National Memorial:  Located in Brdenton, FL. There is a 3/4 mile hike that allows you to see the beautiful natural surrounding of the park.  At Camp Uzita we were able to try on items from time period of de Soto, and see a gun firing. The kids became Junior Rangers (Derek's 1st Badge). The Junior Ranger book was spiral bound and easy for the kids to understand.
