How to have fun in Georgia's oldest city with kids! Savannah, GA

While traveling through Georgia, we visited the state's oldest city:  Savannah.  Be sure to put this city on your bucket list.  Savannah has it all, with a combination of urban living, beauty, and history.  Plenty to do for adults and kids alike.  Starting with a full belly, thanks to a lunch at "The Pirate House".  The Pirate House has been around since 1753, but thankfully the food was fresh.  The kids loved the atmosphere and the ghost stories.  It is said to be the oldest house in the State of Georgia, and the tunnels, and secret passages reinforced the tales.

After lunch we headed straight to the historic district. Savannah is easy to navigate and very walk-able.   Starting at the Savannah Visitors Center (which also houses the Historical Museum), we walked down landscaped streets draped with spanish moss.  It seemed we couldn't walk more than 1 block without admiring a beautiful building, huge water fountain, or historical monument.

In fact, its hard not to take a "selfie" in Savannah, because of the beautiful landscapes!

With so many great things to see in Savannah, it is hard to leave after only one day.  We filled our bellies and walked around all day.  Sounds like a simple agenda, but it made for a perfect day in Savannah.  The kids loved it, the parents loved it.  We will be back soon!
