Detroit Institute of Arts , Detroit, Michigan

A Visit to Detroit Institute of Arts

The kids have been reading about art history and different art medians.  So touring the DIA brought their studies to life. Upon entering the museum I was surprised to see how large the museum was.

We started our tour on the 2nd floor, touring the European and American areas. Here we talked about the different types of art we saw.

The kids enjoyed playing Eye Spy located in many of the galleries. It keep them very engaged.

Some of our favorite pieces

The last collection we toured was the Native American collection on the 1st level.

With a two year old along we spent about an hour and a half in the museum . We only saw a small portion of the museum but everyone enjoyed themselves, except maybe the screaming 2 year old.
