Welcome Aboard the Battleship USS Alabama - Mobile, AL

As we head west, our first sightseeing stop was at the Battleship USS Alabama .

Battleship USS Alabama- Mobile, Alabama 

-USS Alabama (BB-60), a South Dakota-class battleship, was the sixth ship of the United States Navy named after the US state of Alabama.[A] Alabama was commissioned in 1942 and served in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. She was retired in 1962. In 1964, Alabama was taken to Mobile Bay and opened as a museum ship the following year. The ship was added to the National Historic Landmark registry in 1986. - wikipedia 



This massive WWII battleship is has three separate self-guided tours; yellow, red and green. They are marked with colored arrows and are easy to follow. 


The kids were able to climb into compartments, check out the captain cabin, and the highlight firing the guns.  

USS Drum 

At this military park there was not only the USS Alabama but there was also a hanger of military aircraft and Dustin's favorite the USS Drum- that you cold also tour.
